Flaky sustainable sea salt from Iceland, shipped worldwide

Merchant Website: saltverk.com

SALTVERK flaky sea salt is a unique, crunchy, pure sea salt from the remote Westfjords of Iceland. They hand harvest their salt using an artisanal, sustainable and environmentally friendly method dating from the 17th century.

The Danish king established a saltworks in Reykjanes when Iceland was part of the Danish kingdom. Its main purpose was to produce enough salt to satisfy the needs of the country’s baccalà (salt cod) export.

The raw material is the pristine, clean seawater of the Westfjords. To produce their salt, they use only green, geothermal energy from the region’s hot geysers. This means their carbon footprint in making the salt is zero. It is the only artisanal salt in the world produced with 100% geothermal energy.

SALTVERK can be found in the kitchens of some of the world’s most renowned restaurants as well as in the homes of food enthusiasts and chefs around the globe.

SALTVERK produces six different variations of salt: Flaky Sea Salt, Licorice Salt, Arctic Thyme Salt, Birch Smoked Salt, Seaweed Salt and Lava Salt. The salts are sold both as single jars and as gift sets.

They ship to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, U.S. and the UK
